Cookie Policy
This page explains what cookies Club Kick uses, what each one is for and how to change your mind. Only the cookies needed to make the site work are set automatically. Everything else is off until you turn it on.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small file a site stores on your device. Some keep the site working, for example remembering what is in your basket. Others measure how the site is used or support advertising. This page also covers similar technologies such as pixels, tags and local storage.
Your choices
When you first visit, you can accept all optional cookies, reject them, or choose category by category. Rejecting is one click, exactly like accepting.
You can change your choice whenever you like:
The same link sits in the footer of every page. We store your choice for 12 months, then ask again.
If you reject optional cookies the site works normally. You will still see advertising, but it will be generic rather than based on your browsing, and we will not be able to measure how the site is used.
Strictly necessary
These make the site function. They cannot be turned off, because without them the basket, checkout, login and security would not work. They are set whether or not you accept anything.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| woocommerce_cart_hash | Club Kick | Tracks changes to your basket | Session |
| woocommerce_items_in_cart | Club Kick | Tracks whether your basket has items | Session |
| wp_woocommerce_session | Club Kick | Links your basket and checkout to you | 2 days |
| wordpress_logged_in | Club Kick | Keeps you signed in to your account | Session |
| Consent record | Club Kick | Remembers your cookie choice | 12 months |
| __cf_bm | Cloudflare | Distinguishes people from automated traffic | 30 minutes |
Functional
Optional. These remember preferences that make the site nicer to use, such as a video you have started or a setting you have chosen. Turning them off does not break anything.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| Embedded video cookies | YouTube | Set when you play an embedded video, to remember playback preferences | Up to 8 months |
Embedded videos do not load until you allow this category. Until then you see a placeholder with a button to load the video.
Analytics
Optional. These tell us which articles and drills people actually read and use, so we can make better ones. They do not tell us who you are.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes one visitor from another | 13 months |
| _ga plus a property code | Google Analytics | Keeps track of a visit | 13 months |
| Cloudflare Insights beacon | Cloudflare | Measures page performance | No cookie stored |
Marketing and advertising
Optional. These support the advertising on the site. With your permission, they let advertising be matched to your interests, stop you seeing the same ad repeatedly and measure whether an ad led to anything.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| __gads | Google AdSense | Measures ad views and limits repeats | 13 months |
| __gpi | Google AdSense | Ad personalisation and measurement | 13 months |
| IDE, test_cookie | Google, doubleclick.net | Ad targeting and measurement | Up to 13 months |
If you do not allow this category, advertising still appears but is not based on your browsing. You can also review Google’s own advertising controls at myadcenter.google.com.
Controlling cookies in your browser
You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Every browser handles it slightly differently, and the help pages for Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge explain how. Blocking all cookies will stop the basket, checkout and account areas working.
